Living Walls: The City Speaks

“Living Walls, The City Speaks”

is an annual conference on street art and urbanism in Atlanta.

Mónica Campana and Blacki Migliozzi founded Living Walls in 2010 to encourage discussion about street art and urbanism in Metro Atlanta. Is Graffiti vandalism or art and what about murals? How do you draw the line between the two?

The idea of Living Walls seeks to create a more intimate relationship between the invited artists and the community receiving the art. The intentions of the artists are simple: to introduce a wide spectrum of ideas about public space, hoping that everyone leaves the event looking differently at the city, its walls, and how we interact with space.  In 2012, the twenty-six artists participating were all women, making the Living Walls 2012 the very first all-female street art conference, ever.
